Holiday Lighting Contest Returns

posted Mar 18, 2012, 7:52 PM by SFVNA Webmaster
It’s time once again for our annual Holiday Lighting/Decorating Contest. Your board members are out securing prizes for this year’s winners in the following categories: Most Illuminating, Most Whimsical, and Most Traditional. These categories may be adjusted as needed to accommodate other outstanding designs.
If you’re new to the neighborhood or don’t remember how this works, it’s very simple. All you have to do is decorate your home for the holidays before 6pm on December 19. At that time, the board will tour the neighborhood to check out all the decorations. No entry forms, no notifications, just decorate and make sure everything is up and running by the time the judging starts. Again that’s 6pm on Sunday, December 19, 2010. Prizes are awarded that night to our winners, followed quickly by pictures of the winners, and some times honorable mentions, are posted on our website.
This also means Sunday night is a great time to take your own walk around the neighborhood as the decorations should be at their peak.
This low-key and fun event has been around for a number of years in our neighborhood. Please make plans to join us this year in brightening up our corner of the world.
